About Z Advocacy NFP

Z Advocacy NFP is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to expanding access, resources, and celebrating the lived experiences of individuals within the disability community.

Who We Are

Z Advocacy was founded with a clear purpose: to champion disability rights through education, community building, and direct advocacy. We are a disability-led organization — people with disabilities lead our work and guide every decision we make.

Based in McHenry County, Illinois, we serve the local disability community while connecting with broader state and national advocacy efforts. Our work is rooted in the principle of "Nothing About Us Without Us" — the belief that people with disabilities must be at the center of conversations and decisions that affect our lives.

Our Values

  • Nothing About Us Without Us: People with disabilities lead our organization and guide every decision.
  • Intersectional Inclusion: We honor the full spectrum of disability experience, recognizing that disability intersects with race, gender, sexuality, class, and other identities.
  • Community First: We invest in local relationships and prioritize the needs expressed by our community members.
  • Transparency & Accountability: We operate openly, communicate honestly, and hold ourselves accountable to the communities we serve.
  • Celebration & Pride: We believe disability is something to be celebrated — not merely accommodated or tolerated.

Leadership & Team

Z Advocacy is led by a dedicated team of advocates, volunteers, and community members who share a deep commitment to disability rights and inclusion.
